Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team! As a Mechanic with TMMP, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various types of construction/mining equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

This is a 7×7 schedule rotation, day-shifts only.

Advertised wages are base rates, overtime is paid after 8 hours.

Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on TMMP’s heavy equipment fleet (excavators, dozers, graders, rock trucks, etc.)
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
– Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and welding equipment
– Assemble and disassemble machinery as needed
– Work safely within heavy construction and mining environments, travelling from TMMP’s shop to various work sites.
– Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed
– Address general mechanical concerns and answer questions

Skills:
– Strong mechanical aptitude with a ticket, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Heavy Duty Mechanics
– Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various types of machinery
– Knowledge of machinery electrical systems and ability to perform electrical repairs
– Ability to use power tools, rigging equipment, welding equipment, and other tools necessary for the job
– Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and find effective solutions
– Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks

Qualifications:
– Journeyman/Red Seal ticket considered an asset
– Experience working on a wide variety of machinery considered an asset
– CAT SIS experience (or equiv.) considered an asset
– Civil construction, open pit mining, or forestry experience considered an asset
– Class 5 Drivers license
– Fit for duty and able to perform manual labour

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour base rate (with ticket or equiv.)
Expected hours: ~84 hours per rotation (~42 hours per week)
